Masking in Style Internship

The year of 2020 was extremely difficult for everyone, and businesses included. So during the summer of 2020, I had the opportunity to intern with a clothing company, BWA, Inc., that turned into making masks (Masking in Style) since it was a need during this time. However, there was a challenge before I was given the opportunity to create anything - I was the only graphic designer of the group. Even though being the only designer of the group can be intimidating since all the art and designs relies on me and me only, I was able to create content while really communicating with the owner of the business in order to get the message across for the company. Throughout the creation of all of the content, there was different programs being used. The programs includes, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premier Pro, and Microsoft Word. Along with the help of these programs the content that was created was a business booklet to give to potential partners, a brand new logo, a video ad, social media images, and even blog posts.

A Brand New Logo

The company (BWA, Inc.) during the pandemic had a separate business that was still part of it that was called Masking in Style. As everyone knows, with a new business comes a new logo and name. While communicating back and forth with the owner about the how she wanted the logo to look, the colors, the typography, and anything else she wanted I was able to come up with different sketches and versions, until she decided on two different logos that can be used interchangeably.

The Business Booklet

In order to get other businesses and people to partner with Masking in Style, they needed to be able to look at what the company has to offer in addition to other information is being told to them. I was able to create a business booklet that contains images of the masks the company offers, as well as other information including background information of the company, prices, sizes, and what makes the masks different to all the others out there. Adobe InDesign was used to create this booklet that was sent out to numerous companies.

Video Ad

Throughout the summer, the other interns and I were creating content that can be posted on social media and the website. From there I was able to take the content already produced and combine it with new content I have created and music into a video advertisement that can be posted anywhere. See the video below.

Blog Posts

As the interns, we had the pleasure of writing blog posts about anything we wanted, as long as it was about masks in some type of way. So I wrote two different blog posts. The first blog post was about how masks can bring out your personality even though the mask is covering half of our faces. With so many different masks with different patterns, images, and colors there are so many different options to make the pandemic more bearable. The second blog post I wrote was about how wearing masks can bring us closer to normalcy and I talk about everything that we can get back to doing that everyone missed during the pandemic.
