Hubbard Park Video Montage

Creating a video to tell a story not only takes planning, but also needs for the right pieces to come together. I was able to create an ad-like video for a park near me called, Hubbard Park. For this video I really wanted to capture the beauty of the park while also showing the different parts of it since it’s a very big park with many activities to do. For this video I used a digital camera on a tripod to keep it steady and the program Adobe Premiere Pro, which was a challenge since it was the first time I used this program. However, it was simple to understand and learn was I started getting the hang of it after a while, and therefore, I created an interesting video with music to go along with it.

The Video Montage Pre-Plan

Like all projects, it’s always a good idea to plan everything you possibly can. I did just that. I planned everything including an idea of what the video will be, the possible locations to film, possible songs or the mood of what the song should be, any sound effects to include, and even any permissions I would need in order to film at the park. View the plan below.

The Storyboards

Once the plan for the video is all figured out the next logical step is to create a storyboard. This storyboard includes the important details of what each scene should include as well as what it should look like. However, the storyboards are just a plan of what each scene should ideally look like, and once you are on location ready to film there may need to be adjustments or additions that would be great to have or not to have. So for my video, I have created my own storyboard that is shown below with some adjustments in the final design.
