Southington App Design Process
To create an app for the town of Southington, Connecticut, I used the program Invision Studio. While doing my research on the website, I was able to know what would be the most important to have an app, how to condense the information, and any content to carry over. From there I had to figure out how to organize all the content that will be easy for the user to find and to navigate the app as a whole.
Once all of the background information and research was done, the next logical step was to figure out what it would look like and how to get from one screen to the next. After all, the town of Southington, CT does not have an app so I have the chance to create something fresh, new, and unique while keeping in mind that people of all ages and backgrounds while be using the app. Therefore, after multiple rounds of feedback from my peers and doing user testings, I was able to create a well-designed and very functional app. Keep in mind that I created a mix of a functioning medium and high-fidelity prototype, which is why everything in the prototype is present and done to the highest standard with the exception to there being no pictures (rectangle with an ‘X’ is in place of any pictures) in order to keep the focus on app and not the images.
